比利时根特大学博士后职位人类免疫细胞发育转化研究

Postdoctoral Researcher

Ghent University

Description

The Taghon lab has a long standing interest in understanding the molecular mechanisms that control human T cell development. Recently, we identified the cells that are migrating from the bone marrow towards the thymus to initiate human T cell development and obtained novel insights into the mechanisms that convert these multipotent precursors into early T cell progenitors. In the context of a granted Industrial Research Fund, we are looking for a postdoctoral scientist with strong experience in this field to further evaluate the functional impact of this molecular mechanism on human T cell precursor generation.

YOUR TASKS

  You will spend 100% of your time on research.

  You are involved in translational research on human immune cell development with the aim of establishing novel cell therapy products.

  You will perform in vitro cell cultures with human induced pluripotent stem cells and primary hematopoietic progenitor cells, including artificial thymic organoids, and evaluate the impact of various compounds on T cell precursor generation.

  You will perform in vivo xenograft experiments to test T cell precursor activity.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  You hold a thesis-based doctorate in life-sciences.

  You have excellent oral and writing skills in English.

  You have strong knowledge on human hematopoiesis and T cell development.

  You have expertise in isolating and culturing of human hematopoietic progenitor cells and of induced pluripotent stem cells.

  You have expertise in flow cytometry, both analysis and cell sorting.

  You have expertise in in vitro models for generating human hematopoietic and T cell precursors, including artificial thymic organoids and stromal cocultures.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 01/06/2022 – 31/08/2023.

  Your contract will start on 1/06/2022 at the earliest.
