Position Summary
The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Diabetes Immunology. This candidate will develop her/his work with Enrique Montero, MD, Ph.D. and Bart Roep, Ph.D..
This exciting position will be part of the newly created Department of Diabetes Immunology, within the Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute at City of Hope. This candidate will join our mission to cure type 1 diabetes team.
In particular, the research plan is focused on the development of novel molecular therapeutics entities, aiming to target the autoimmune response and protects the insulin-producing cells in the pancreatic islets of Langerhans from their inflammatory microenvironment. The candidate will have the unique opportunity to contribute to a translational research program, working with renowned specialists in the fields of immunology, diabetes, and biotechnology. This candidate will be exposed to novel proprietary technologies developed at City of Hope.
Qualifications
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
· Must have a Ph.D. degree in life or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline.
· Must have experience in molecular immunology.
· Must have experience in cell culture, molecular biology, protein chemistry, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) purification and conjugation, ELISA and flow cytometry.
Preferred education experience and skills:
· Experience in lymphocyte function tests and immunohistochemistry.
· Notions on mAbs pharmacokinetics, bio distribution, immunogenicity and toxicology analysis in experimental models
