A postdoctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Anthony Paul Barnes in the department of Pediatrics at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Become a member of the vibrant neuroscience community at OHSU that includes the Pediatrics Neuroscience Division, the Vollum Institute and Jungers Center for Neurosciences Research. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our research program in cerebral cortex development. Our laboratory studies the cellular signaling underlying brain-patterning events such as cell proliferation, polarity, migration, morphogenesis and connectivity. Our studies utilize a number of methodologies including state-of-the-art imaging and mouse genetics complemented by biochemical, proteomic and cell biological analysis.
This position is available immediately and candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree and have strong background either mouse genetics or biochemistry, neuroscience background is not a requirement. The ideal candidate is a creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
