The Germ Cell Biology Laboratory directed by Chen Chen, Ph.D. at Michigan State University is inviting applicants for a postdoc position. The Chen lab studies the molecular mechanisms underlying mammalian spermatogenesis and infertility using molecular, cellular, biochemical, mouse genetics and genomics approaches. The lab is broadly interested in genes and pathways influencing germ/stem cell self-renewal, differentiation and fertility with a current focus on Tudor domain proteins and their function in the Piwi-piRNA pathway, genome stability, epigenetics, and stem cell biology.

The laboratory is affiliated with the Reproductive and Developmental Sciences Program of MSU, which includes faculty members from Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Physiology, Microbiology and Genetics, and Obstetric and Gynecology.
The successful candidate should hold a recent Ph.D. in biological sciences with a research background in molecular biology, reproductive and developmental biology or mouse genetics. Preference will be given to applicants with research experience in small RNA biology, knockout mouse models, RNA-seq, or biochemistry.
