Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position with the AGEING Theme within the Epidemiology Group (http://www.abdn.ac.uk/iahs/research/epidemiology/) within the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (http://www.abdn.ac.uk/iahs). The position reflects a commitment within the University to enhance the clinical translational ageing research to improve health and healthcare delivery of an ageing population. The purpose of the post is to present an opportunity to a talented post-doctoral researcher with ambitious career goals of practical experience in conduct and management of research in wide ranging methodologies of epidemiological research. We aim to provide a nurturing environment for learning and professional development by working within the AGEING theme team as part of the Epidemiology Group.
You will work closely and under the supervision of the AGEING Theme Lead, Professor Phyo Myint and will have key responsibilities described in detail in the further particulars of the post. It is expected that you will seek opportunities to develop as a Senior Research Fellow at the end of the three years period of this Research Fellow post.
You will engage fully as a member of the Epidemiology group and contribute generally to the research activities of AGEING Theme. A limited amount of commitment to undergraduate and/ or postgraduate research training may be required.
You should have a track record of peer reviewed publications, as well as of being able to present research ideas and findings to diverse audiences. All candidates should have the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary research group.
This post will be available for a period of three years. This appointment will be made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 salary scale (£30,728 - £36,661), with placement according to qualifications and experience.
