Post Doc – New Biological Entities Discovery (m/f) : Biberach, Germany

Your various tasks and responsibilities

• Support of new biological entities (NBE) research projects and management of identification projects characterizing novel biologics and surrogate antibodies in the therapeutic area of respiratory diseases
• Isolation and characterization of primary cells, for example, from human blood using magnetic beads and FACS
• Phenotypic characterization of pathways activated in different cell populations under pathological conditions
• Establishment of complex bioassays for NBEs in primary cells of different species (human, primate and rodent), e.g. trans-well assays, migration assays, T cell proliferation, ELISPOT or assays with multiple cell types (ADCC, T cell / dendritic cell co-cultivation)
• Validation and testing of these assays for NBEs
• Identification of novel potential biomarkers for respiratory indications
• Expression, purification and characterization of recombinant antibodies and ligands

Your ideal qualifications

• PhD or MD in life sciences, e.g. biology, biochemistry, medicine, veterinary medicine or a comparable degree, and ideally, previous postdoctoral training
• Experience in cell biology and immunology, in particular bioassays and with antibody characterization
• Very good command of spoken and written English

The position is initially limited to two years.
