Postdoctoral Research Scientist position available in an NIH-funded molecular microbiology laboratory starting in June 2014 to investigate host-pathogen interactions with a specific focus on the mechanisms of Fusobacterium nucleatum infection in colorectal cancer and preterm birth. Individuals with a Ph.D. or M.D. and a strong background in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply: molecular and cellular biology, microbiology, bacterial genetics, and protein chemistry. Prior experience in human microbiome studies, cancer biology, and work involving rodents is a plus.
Applicants must be able to learn and develop new skills as required for the studies. Ability to work independently and good verbal and written skills are expected.
