英国牛津大学材料学院博士后招聘
Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Transmission Electron Microscopy of Radiation Effects in Perovskites
University of Oxford -Department of Materials
Parks Road, Oxford
Grade 7: Salary in the range £29,837 - £33,562 p.a.
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in transmission electron microscopy to examine radiation effects in perovskites. The researcher appointed to this post will be expected to undertake and facilitate advanced nanostructural and chemical characterisation studies of radiation damage formation and recovery mechanisms, and inert gas incorporation in a range of perovskite materials for nuclear energy (fission and fusion) applications. This post is available immediately for up to three and a half years' duration and is part of an EPSRC-funded collaboration between the Universities of Oxford, Sheffield, Huddersfield and Imperial College London, and including industrial partners from the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy and Tokamak Solutions.
Applicants should have, by the start date, a doctorate in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry or a closely-related subject area. Proven skills are required in some or all of electron microscopy and focussed ion beam machining, preferably as applied to investigating the effects of radiation damage in materials. Full details of the post and selection criteria are in the job description.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Phil Edmondson (email: philip.edmondson@materials.ox.ac.uk). Information on nuclear materials research being conducted at Oxford can be found either at http://mffp.materials.ox.ac.uk or http://www-fim.materials.ox.ac.uk.
The closing date for applications (ID 113186) is 12.00 midday on Friday 6 June 2014 with interviews currently planned for the week of 23 June 2014.
