Salary:    From £33,882 The starting salary will be from £33,882 on Grade E for Associates or £42,632 on Grade F for Fellows, subject to qualifications and experience.

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Associate to participate in the Global Health Research Group on Community Food for Human Nutrition and Planetary Health (Global CFaH) https://communityfoodplanetaryhealth.org/). This NIHR funded post is available immediately through to the end of July 2026.

We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements. While the UK research team for GCFaH is based in Penryn, Cornwall, we welcome applicants who will be based remotely, with occasional travel to Penryn.

The post

Global CFaH is an international and interdisciplinary project, led by the Universities of Exeter (Prof Nigel Unwin) and West Indies (Dr Madhuvanti Murphy)., The successful applicant will play a key role in the analysis, write up and dissemination of quantitative, population based data collected by partners in Fiji, the Caribbean and the Philippines. The data include those from household health and nutrition surveys, surveys of the practices of local food producers and the evaluation of interventions. Some analyses will involve mixed methods through collaboration with qualitative data leads. The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to systems informed health and environmental impact modelling. In addition, it is expected that they will contribute to the development of plans beyond the current project timeframe, including through leading or being part of new funding applications.

About you

The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant to Research Fellow will be a nationally recognised authority in a relevant subject area and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant to Research Fellow will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Experience and proficiency in quantitative data management and analysis is essential for both Research Fellow and Associate positions.
