The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering Technology in the School of Science, Aviation, Health and Technology at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) offers undergraduate programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering Technology. The Department also offers a M.S. in Mathematics with concentrations in Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, Community College Teaching, and Remote Sensing. The primary purpose of the unit is to provide quality higher education and cutting-edge research experience to our students.
Description of Work
This is an advanced academic Postdoc research role for conducting research supported by excellent research training under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The researcher will function as part of a group working on conversion of CO2 into energy rich chemical, electrochemical production of hydrogen, synthesis and characterization of nanocatalysts for advanced renewable energy storage systems such as batteries. This position will support the project activity and accomplish the proposed research and others goals mainly working on investigating electrochemical properties of individual MXenes for CO2 electrochemical conversion. The researcher will develop new or advanced research skills and competencies, on the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications and scholarly dissemination. The position will also assist with the development of funding proposals and the supervision and mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop skills in research led teaching.

Minimum Training and Experience
Ph.D. in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 0 – 5 years of relevant experience in an energy- related research environment.
