Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe laboratory of Dr. Rocco Gogliotti is actively recruiting Research Associates interested in drug discovery, personalized medicine, and basic science research for neurodevelopmental disorders (i.e. Rett syndrome, MeCP2 Duplication syndrome, CDKL5 deficiency disorder, and idiopathic autism). Successful Candidates will have experience in, or a strong desire to learn, modern techniques in neurogenomics, neuropharmacology, behavioral pharmacology, and/or electrophysiology. It is anticipated that this position will be funded by RO1 level support; however, candidates will also be encouraged to apply for independent funding and pursue avenues for career development for which they are passionate. Motivated candidates will be mentored to develop their own hypotheses, seek out mechanisms to fund those projects, and function in a manner that is both self-motivated and professional. The successful candidate will be expected to publish research results in peer-reviewed journals, present at scientific meetings, independently seek out relevant literature, and help mentor students and research assistants.
QualificationsApplicants must have a PhD or PhD/MD with research experience, a documented record of peer- reviewed publications, and be eligible to apply for NIH grant support. Applicants from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
