  A POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE position is available in lab group of Dr. Phillip West in the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology at the Texas A&M Health Science Center in Bryan/College Station, TX. The successful applicant will lead a collaborative research effort to delineate new roles for mitochondria in innate immunity. Projects will involve investigation of mitochondria as signaling organelles in the immune system and will explore innate immune and inflammatory responses in animal models of mitochondrial disease/dysfunction.   Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in immunology, cell biology, or a related discipline and exhibit strong laboratory, analytical, and communication skills. A desire to work with both in vitro cell culture and in vivo murine models is required. Preference will given to those applicants with prior research experience in the fields of innate immune signaling, type I interferon responses, and/or mitochondrial biology.
