　　Postdoctoral Fellow/Scholar Position Available in Dr. Willy Hugo’s Laboratory

　　Dermatology Division, UCLA School of Medicine

　　Position available: May 1 (or until filled)

　　A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Willy Hugo to study the evolution of drug resistance in cancer under the selective pressure of targeted therapy and/or immunotherapy. The general aim of our lab is to delineate how the tumor and stroma/immune cell populations adapt and interact during the development of drug resistance. We will be utilizing novel single cell analytics including single cell omics, novel multiplex immunofluorescence, and high complexity co-culture models to model the immune vs. tumor interaction in patient tumors. We work closely with multiple collaborators to use in vivo models of cancer and patient-derived tumor xenografts to validate our hypotheses.

　　Enthusiastic candidates with a recent PhD with strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should have: 1) first author publication in peer-reviewed journal, 2) extensive experience in wet lab molecular and cell biology work (experience in organoid or other co-culture models will be a strong plus), 3) working knowledge in cancer biology and/or immunobiology and 4) strong written and oral English communication skills. The candidate should also possess a strong passion for research such that they read widely about the latest literature on cancer.
