Job Description
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship available in the laboratory of Drs. Lee Ellis and Rajat Bhattacharya at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This is a full¬time, hands-on laboratory post¬doctoral research position in the Department of Surgical Oncology. Applicants must have a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. with focused research on the relevant subjects. The successful candidate will have a track record of productivity in research and have the training, talent and dedication to take advantage of the vast resources available at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
We are seeking highly motivated and interactive colleagues with training in basic science/translational research and are interested in applying their knowledge and skill sets to cell signaling, genomic and proteomic analyses, high throughput drug screening technologies, and in vivo tumor modeling. The candidate should contribute to our overall goal aimed towards a better understanding of the biology of colorectal cancer (CRC) and the development of novel and effective therapies for patients with CRC. Competitive candidates should have strong experience in molecular biology, cancer biology, cell culture with some exposure and experience in experimental therapeutics, and animal models of cancer. Our laboratory is well equipped with resources to study colorectal cancer including patient-derived xenografts, 3D culture/organoid models, and unique sets of various drug resistant CRC cell lines. Candidates will be responsible for work on ongoing projects in the laboratory and will also be encouraged to develop novel scientific ideas.
