We also study co-morbidities of infection and vulnerable populations, such as the very young and the elderly and those suffering from cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders. Its staff of more than 350 employees includes a multidisciplinary team of approximately 65+ doctoral-level scientists who lead more than 200 major research projects in the Institute’s three program areas of Disease Intervention & Prevention, Host Pathogen Interaction and Population Health, as well as the Southwest National Primate Research Center.

POSTDOCTORALSCIENTIST
We are searching for a highly motivated Postdoctoral candidate with ambition and commitment to a productive environment in a high achieving academic environment. Our laboratory focuses on induced pluripotent stem cells, neural stem cells for basic biology, disease modeling, drug discovery and stem cell-based therapy for neurological disorders. We have discovered technologies for neural stem cell derivation and differentiation into specific lineages with application in Parkinson’s disease, stroke, traumatic brain injury and other neurological disorders. We work with rodent and nonhuman primate models of Parkinson’s disease, stroke and traumatic brain injury. The postdoc fellow will report to Dr. Marcel Daadi.
· Requirements for this position are: D. in neurosciences, molecular biology, developmental biology, bioengineering or related field.
This is a full-time salaried (exempt) position with work hours of Monday through Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and shared on-call responsibilities for nights, weekends, and holidays.
