摘要:

Postdoctoral Position in Neuroscience and Nanotechnology Northwestern University : Chicago, IL, United States

The successful candidate will be involved in the development and implementation of nanotechnology-enabled, point-of-care tests using blood transcript markers of stress severity. The collaborative project between Drs. Chad Mirkin’s and Eva Redei’s labs builds on previous work on multiplexed Nanoflare-like assays and a blood test for human depression, respectively.

Currently, Dr. Redei is the David Lawrence Stein Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Physiology at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University.
Dr. Redei is principle investigator of NIH funded grants, serves on NIH study sections and reviews grants for other federal and international granting agencies. She has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles and has been serving on the board of several journals. Her current research is in neurobiological and genetic etiology of stress hyper-reactivity, resilience and depressive behavior. Using techniques including, behavioral tests, quantitative molecular biology and genetic methods we are establishing causative connections between genes and behavior. Her areas of research include Behavior Cognition Language, Biological Rhythms, Cell Biology, Mechanisms of Drug Action, Molecular Neuroscience, Neurobiology of Disease, Neuroendicrinology and Systems Neuroscience.

Dr. Chad A. Mirkin is the Director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology, the George B. Rathmann Prof. of Chemistry, Prof. of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Prof. of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. of Materials Science & Engineering, and Prof. of Medicine. He is a chemist and a world renowned nanoscience expert, who is known for his development of nanoparticle-based biodetection schemes, the invention of Dip-Pen Nanolithography, and contributions to supramolecular chemistry. He is the author of over 562 manuscripts and over 930 patents worldwide (246 issued), and the founder of four companies, Nanosphere, NanoInk, AuraSense, and AuraSense Therapeutics, which are commercializing nanotechnology applications in the life science and semiconductor industries.
