Postdoc in Information Theory and Machine Learning : Marina del Rey, CA, United States
We seek an individual with a strong mathematical background to work at the interface of information theory, machine learning, and neuroscience on problems that will significantly impact our understanding of intelligence.
The successful candidate will join a team consisting of computer scientists, theoretical and experimental neuroscientists, and physicists. This individual will be expected to collaborate with neuroscientists studying vision to illuminate fundamental principles governing information processing in the brain and to build on these principles to advance the state-of-the-art in unsupervised machine learning.
This research is intrinsically inter-disciplinary and applicants with PhD's in fields like physics, math, computer science, or computational neuroscience will be considered. The funding supporting this position is potentially renewable for up to five years.
