Job Description

INORGANIC CHEMISTRY - TENURE TRACK POSITION. Applicants with expertise in Inorganic chemistry are encouraged to apply. In addition to Inorganic Chemistry, primary teaching assignments will be in General Chemistry for majors and non-majors. The successful candidate will be expected to play a role in pedagogy and curriculum development for our chemistry offerings. We encourage applications from candidates who plan to incorporate this curriculum activity into their research program. Successful candidates must be committed to high-quality undergraduate education and will be expected to develop and maintain an active undergraduate research program. Publishable research that engages undergraduates is expected. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment is anticipated at the assistant professor level, but appointment at an advanced level may be possible for a highly experienced candidate.

A Ph.D. in chemistry or related discipline is required at the time of hiring. Successful candidates must be committed to quality undergraduate education and will be expected to develop and maintain an active undergraduate research program in their discipline. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers B.S. degrees in both chemistry and biochemistry. The department also serves many technical programs in the University. Students may choose concentrations in Polymers and Coatings, Molecular Biology, or a focused Master's program in Polymers and Coatings Science. Preliminary telephone interviews will be held in January or February, 2016 and finalists asked for on-campus interviews in February or March, 2016 for a starting date of September 15, 2016.
