We are seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral fellows to study immune microenvironments in lung cancer. The study will employ a multidisciplinary approach integrating cutting-edge biochemistry/molecular biology, genomic and proteomic approaches, experimental and computational analysis of tumor-microenvironment networks to identify novel mechanisms of immune regulation in cancer. Using a variety of mouse genetic models of lung and breast cancer, the project will elucidate the functional roles of reprogrammed tumor microenvironments in eliciting immune suppression, promoting drug resistance and metastatic recurrence. The impact of conventional therapies (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, epigenetic therapy, oncogene-targeted therapies) in promoting efficacy of immunomodulatory agents will be determined. Clinical specimens from immunotherapy trials will support correlative studies and feasibility for clinical translation. This study will provide mechanistic insights for combining standard of care treatments and immune checkpoint therapies.
Qualifications.
1) A doctoral degree with demonstrated publication record of innovative scientific accomplishments.
2) Ability to solve complex biological questions, rigorous scientific aptitude, and strong communication and organization skills.
3) Work experience required with phenotypic and functional analysis of immune cells.
4) Preference will be given to individuals with work experience in immunology, genomics and mouse models.
