Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics in Melanoma : New York, NY, United States
We have a postdoctoral fellow position available in Dr. Julide Celebi's laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in the Departments of Pathology, Dermatology, and the Tisch Cancer Institute.
Our work focuses on discovering the molecular underpinnings of melanocyte transformation. We utilize advanced high throughput functional genomics to dissect the molecular basis of melanoma, its precursors, and its interactions with the microenvironment.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in biomedical informatics, genomics, and genetics. The focus will be on the processing and integrative analysis of next generation sequencing datasets, based on RNA-Seq, DNA-seq, ChIp-Seq and microarray data. Skills in programming, biostatistics and databases languages (e.g. Python/Perl, R/MATLAB) are required. Individuals with experience in next generation sequencing pipelines are highly encouraged to apply.
In addition, the successful candidate needs to be motivated, well-organized, able to work collaboratively and independently, detail-oriented, and have excellent written and oral English skills.
