摘要:

Postdoc position for translational bioinformatics in cancer : Houston, TX, United States

An NIH-funded postdoc position is available at Wang laboratory, Baylor College of Medicine. The individual will join our integrative translational bioinformatics initiatives aimed at discovering causal cancer genes and viable therapeutic targets from next-generation sequencing and genomic profiling datasets, and will be responsible for the development of novel analyses and bioinformatics tools to analyze whole-genome and RNA sequencing data, as well as to integrate other cancer genomic datasets. The candidates will receive unique multidisciplinary training on integrative bioinformatics, cancer biology, and translational researches.
We are looking for highly motivated applicant who has a strong background and hands-on experience in next-generation sequencing data analysis and integrative bioinformatics. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree and has less than 3-year postdoctoral experience in a related field. The candidates with additional experience in cancer research and/or experimental biology are especially welcome.
Wang laboratory is a cancer genomics and molecular targeting lab at Lester & Sue Smith Breast Center and Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center. The long-term goal of this lab is to apply a multiple disciplinary approach inclusive of bioinformatics, genetics, molecular and cell biology, and translational studies to detect driving genetic aberrations and qualify viable cancer targets on the basis of high-throughput genomic data. Please visit our website for more details about our research (http://www.bcm.edu/research/labs/xiaosong-wang).
