The Cancer Center at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (http://Cancer.TTUHSC.edu) invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate for funded project involving cellular and molecular investigations on sphingolipid-related cytotoxicity and chemistries for the preclinical development of novel cancer therapeutics in pediatric cancer models. Responsibilities and requisite skills include design, execution, and analysis of experiments in tissue culture cancer cell line and murine xenograft models, cell death assays, immunoblotting, and siRNA knockdown or equivalent. Candidate will also assist the PI in aspects of routine lab maintenance and the teaching and training of students, trainees and technicians. Candidate will be expected to participate in regular group laboratory meetings and represent the laboratory at regional or national research conferences as needed.

A MD, PhD, or DVM degree in area of project specialization and minimum of one year research experience is required. Experience in sphingolipid analysis, including thin layer chromatography and tandem mass spectroscopy, and confocal microscopy is desirable but not essential. Excellent written scientific communications skills required.
