Postdoctoral Fellowship in Law

University of Copenhagen - Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law (Faculty), University of Copenhagen, is seeking applications for one or more positions as postdoc within the research area of one of the faculty’s research centres - CEVIA (Centre for Enterprise Liability). The position is connected to the research project “Private/Public Enterprise Liability”. The project is funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research | Social Sciences (FSE). The positions are to be filled as soon as possible.

The postdoc projects:
The research project “Private/Public Enterprise Liability” runs for five years until 2018.
The central aim of the project is to elucidate the interplay between the public law and private law rules and perspectives in relation to enterprise liability.

The postdoc is expected to conduct research within one of the following three areas:

  • Long-term private and public contracts – flexibility and stability 
  • Sustainability, responsibility and enterprise liability 
  • Welfare services, privatization, and the liability of private and public enterprises 

The academic tasks that the postdoc must deliver will be defined on a continuous basis, as they depend on what the project group overall, within the given workload, defines more precisely.

Required qualifications
The position requires academic qualifications such as a PhD or equivalent within the research area. During the overall assessment, emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s research and teaching potential. Within the assessment process, special emphasis is placed on the applicant’s ambition to develop and implement new research ideas, which have an international impact.

Experience with publications in leading international journals or having published with leading international publishers and having obtained external financing is desirable but not a precondition. The Faculty places further emphasis during the assessment process on the applicant’s interest and preferably, prior experience, in working with other researchers to conduct collective research and teaching activities and welcomes the applicant’s proven ability to make a valuable contribution in this regard.

Salary and terms of employment
In accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikernes Centralorganisation, AC) the appointment period is 3 years. In addition to the basic salary, an annual increment of DKK 50.146,09 (as of 1 April 2014) is paid. Furthermore, a total contribution to your pension fund, equal to 17.1% of your salary and annual increment, is paid.

The positions include research, teaching and administrative responsibilities.
