Applications are invited for a fully funded (3 year) PhD Studentship in synthetic / physical organic chemistry under the supervision of Dr Liam Ball. The project will involve development of main group catalysts for the formation of traditionally challenging carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Strong emphasis will be placed upon the exploitation of mechanistic insight in the rational design and optimisation of the catalytic system. Candidates should hold, or should be expected to achieve, a strong 2:1 or 1st Class Masters degree in Chemistry.
Please note that this studentship is only available for Home/EU students.
