摘要:
Postdoc Positions in Porous Polymers or MOF Chemistry : Daejeon, Korea, South

ONE Lab at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has openings for multiple postdoctoral positions in Porous Materials or MOF Chemistry, broadly defined. The start date is preferably November 15, 2014 or anytime mutually agreed.

Ideally, the candidates should be:

  • A fresh graduate (within 1-2 years of PhD) at the time of the appointment
  • A PhD in Organic or Inorganic Chemistry (required)
  • Proficient in synthetic knowledge with matching laboratory skills and expertise in porous materials characterization

The candidates are primarily expected to develop porous organic/hybrid materials. Knowledge in characterization of porous materials, especially BET, is necessary.

We intend to hire more than one scholar with one or more of the following background scenarios:

  • A porous materials chemist who made porous networks for CO2 capture

  • A synthetic organic chemist who made ligands for MOFs

  • An inorganic chemist who made MOF crystals and carried out all of their analysis

  • A polymer chemist who made porous polymers and characterized them extensively

  • An inorganic zeolites chemist who synthesized and modified zeolites with organic functionalities for applications in gas capture and conversion

  • A physical chemist or chemical engineer who worked extensively on CO2 capture and/or conversion

  • A membrane chemist who made membranes and separated CO2 from gas mixtures

The research scope of our group is broadly defined in energy and environment, and all group members are welcome to explore new directions.

Salary will be commensurate with the experience. Proficiency in English is compulsory, knowledge of Korean is highly preferred. Appointments are made for one year, renewable up to three years. Prestigious, named fellowships may be applied for, if the candidate is exceptional.

Please submit your CV with a tailored cover letter specifically addressing the description of the job to postdoc@caferyavuz.com. Candidate screening will start immediately. Appointment date may be adjusted.
