Job Description
A postdoctoral research position is available in Dr. Angela Brown’s lab at Lehigh University. The Brown lab investigates the role of lipid-protein interactions and membrane properties in bacterial pathogenesis. We focus on the interaction of virulence factors with host cells to identify pathogenic mechanisms and create targeted therapeutics as an alternative approach to the use of antibiotics to treat bacterial diseases. This new laboratory is located in the state-of-the-art Health Research Hub of Lehigh University, with access to numerous essential core facilities. The work is funded by an NIH R00 grant through the end of 2016. Highly motivated Ph.D. graduates with experience in bacterial cell culture, tissue culture, molecular biology, protein purification, and/or lipid/membrane characterization are encouraged to contact Angela Brown with a CV, cover letter, and contact information for three references. Candidates should have a productive research history; excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills; and an interest and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Our multi-disciplinary group currently includes chemical engineers and bioengineers; we welcome applications from any relevant field. |
