Description:
The laboratory of Dr. David Rickman at the Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York, NY, is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for ongoing research in prostate cancer. Dr. Rickman’s lab combines multi-disciplinary approaches to study the role of oncogenic transcription factors in prostate cancer and in disease progression. One project in the lab focuses on the driving role of the n-Myc in neuroendocrine prostate cancer phenotype, regulating gene expression and changing chromatin topology. The aim of the other project is to characterize the role of ERG in promoting an aggressive cancer phenotypes and resistance to chemotherapy. For these projects, the candidates will use genome-wide molecular techniques in combination with available in vitro cell line models, xenografts and transgenic mice. Both projects are translational in nature and will allow for a broad network of interactions with computational, clinical and basic researchers here at Weill Cornell and at other institutions. The position is open to graduating Ph.D. students and current postdoctoral fellows with less than one year of postdoctoral experience. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and a strong background in, molecular biology, cancer genomics, biochemistry or other related fields.
Competitive salary will be offered and the starting date is flexible.
