The University of Helsinki is among the leading multidisciplinary research universities in the world. Laboratory of Radiochemistry, established in 1963, is the only general radiochemistry unit within Finnish universities. The research group in radiopharmaceutical chemistry at Laboratory of Radiochemistry develops new radiotracers for positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission tomography (SPECT).

Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry, Laboratory of Radiochemistry is seeking candidates for a position of

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

at radiopharmaceutical chemistry research group for duration of four years starting from 1st of October 2014 or as agreed. The postdoctoral researcher will work in a research project developing new metal implanted multi-functional nanovectors for targeted radiotherapy and diagnostics of cancer.

Qualification requirements for the position include doctoral degree in nuclear physics or radiochemistry or comparable and high motivation to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. The candidate should have preferentially background in radionuclide production with reactors and/or accelerators.

The salary will be based on level 5 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal performance. An average starting salary is between 3200 and 3400 euros per month depending on the qualifications and previous experience of the appointee.
