法国国家健康与医学研究院招聘遗传流行病学博士后
INSERM Center UMR 897, Bordeaux, France, is recruiting a post-doctoral research fellow for genome-wide association analyses, for analyses of rare variants from whole exome sequencing, as well as large-scale meta-analyses of genetic association data
The following qualifications are required:
- A Ph.D. degree in Statistical genetics, Genetic Epidemiology, Biostatistics or related fields
- Experience with genome-wide association analyses and imputation; experience with working in R and Unix/Linux
- Prior experience with analyses of rare variants is an advantage but not a requirement, however at least some theoretical knowledge is required
- Some knowledge of functional annotation (ENCODE, Roadmap…) is an advantage but not a requirement
- Motivation for and experience with drafting manuscripts is an advantage but not a requirement
French language skills are not a requirement, but the candidate should be fluent in English.
The successful candidate will perform genome-wide association analyses and will be involved in the analysis of rare variants from whole exome sequencing data, from a large French population-based study. The candidate will also run large-scale meta-analyses at the genome-wide / exome-wide level.
The phenotypes of interest include mostly age-related neurological phenotypes (stroke, cognitive decline, dementia) and various quantitative endophenotypes, mostly based on brain magnetic resonance imaging.
This work will be conducted at INSERM Center UMR 897 (Bordeaux University, director Pr. Christophe Tzourio). The team is collaborating closely with various international consortia, mainly the Cohorts of Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology (CHARGE) consortium and the International Stroke Genetics Consortium (ISGC), and is a member of a Leducq Transatlantic Network of Excellence on the genetics and pathophysiology of cerebral small vessel disease.
The salary will be discussed on an individual basis, depending on the applicant's experience. The position is initially for 1 year, with a planned extension upon mutual agreement.
