摘要:
The research area of the Astrophysics programline focuses on observational studies of topics/objects for which the understanding depends critically on the emitted X-ray and gamma ray radiation. Among the most recent instrumental track records are the Reflection Grating Spectrometer (RGS) on ESA's XMM-Newton satellite and the Low Energy Transmission Grating (LETG) on NASA's Chandra mission. Both satellites are still operational, but successor missions are being planned and developed. SRON contributes to JAXA's ASTRO-H mission, due for launch in 2015 and within the context of ESA's Cosmic Vision program, SRON is participating in the definition of Xray missions to be launched in the next decade. Within the X-ray research program the SRON-Astrophysics programline seeks a: Postdoc (1039) The Astrophysics programline is strongly involved in both current Chandra and XMM-Newton and the upcoming ASTRO-H mission. Our group has a strong background in high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy applied to Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) astrophysics. The post doc will work on the physical and chemical properties of AGN outflows and their interaction with the environment, using a multiwavelength approach.
