Postdoctoral Researcher in ERC-funded 15cBOOKTRADE project

This post has been created as part of the ERC-funded, international project 15cBOOKTRADE, directed by Dr Cristina Dondi. This is a full-time post for 4 years and the postholder will be based in the Bodleian Library. The project team will consist of the PI, the project administrator, three postdoctoral researchers (based in Oxford, the British Library, and Venice), and one Oxford doctoral student. The postholder will be in charge of liaising with libraries worldwide for inclusion of their incunabula descriptions into MEI, liaising with the Data Conversion Group (DCG) of the University of Göttingen, Germany, for the ingestion of data, as well as enhancing the records to comply with the database categories. The researcher will also work on the new TEXT-INC database, towards the preparation of the corpus of all texts printed in the 15th century. They will also contribute original research toward the preparation of an in-depth monograph co-authored by the PI and the other project researchers.
Applicants must have completed doctoral degree. Excellent organisational skills and experience in the analysis of the contents of books from the Classical to the Renaissance period are the most important aspects of this research position, as well as fluency in written and spoken English, another European language, and good knowledge of Latin. Familiarity with IT and the digital humanities would be an advantage.
