The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for a Post-doc in Law (M/F), in the field of Criminal Law and Cyberlaw.

Ref: F2- 130008 (to be mentioned in all correspondence)
2-year contract, 40h/week, renewable up to a total of 60 months.

Mission
Under the direction of Professor Katalin Ligeti and Associate Professor Mark D. Cole:

  • Furthering own research in the field by publications;
  • Contributing to the establishment of an interdisciplinary research group in the field including researchers with a background in media / IT law or criminal law;
  • Assisting in the application for research projects (FNR, EU);
  • Coordinating with other interested groups (internal, e.g. Criminal Law Group, Media Law Research Team Interdisciplinary Centre SnT and international partners e.g. AIDP, ECLAN, etc.);
  • Being a reference point for current and future PhD students with relevant topics;
  • Being the coordinator for research undertaken by the Criminal Law/Media Law Research groups that can contribute to the research field in the crossroads of the two areas;
  • Contributing to teaching in the field, in particular teaching in criminal law and cybercrime.

Profile

  • Education in law (PhD) with a focus/interest in criminal law and media/IT law;
  • Ideally practical experience in prosecution or having passed a bar exam;
  • International background that allows comparative research work;
  • Sound knowledge not only of a national law, but also of international and EU instruments;
  • Previous relevant research results in the field or related to the field;
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language (particularly German) will be considered an advantage.

  • Copy of the publications that the applicant deems most relevant to his/her research work.
