The group of Prof. Marko at the Institute of Food Chemistry and Toxicology at the faculty of Chemistry is dedicated to studies on cellular mechanisms of food constituents. The compound spectrum compromises potentially bioactive secondary plant metabolites (polyphenols), contaminants e.g. mycotoxins up to nanoparticles. In focus are potentially desirable cellular effects such as anticarcinogenic or antioxidative properties as well as application-limiting toxicologically relevant effects. Within the group a Zeiss Elyra PS.1 system equipped with PALM and SIM as well as equipment for life cell imaging is available. The advertised position is focused primarily to establish and conduct mechanistic studies by confocal microscopy.
