Postdoctoral research fellow in single cell T cell transcriptomics

Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medicine, Solna, Rheumatology research unit

The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The department consists of several units that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: allergy, cardiovascular medicine and inflammatory diseases.

Division
The Center for Inflammatory Diseases is a virtual interdisciplinary center fended by the Karolinska
Institutet and the Stockholm County Council. The mission of the center is to advance the knowledge of the mechanisms initiating chronic inflammatory diseases and to develop innovative diagnostic tools and treatments. The center is currently looking for a post-doc in T cell immunology and single cell transcriptomics to join our team at the Department of Medicine-Solna

Duties
The successful applicant will be expected to work individually as well as in a team to develop
methodological tools in order to monitor human autoimmune T cells in patients as well is in healthy donors using reumatoid arthritis as the model system. The work will be part of a collaborative effort between the Rheumatology Unit at CMM and Science for Life Laboratory and with the genomics platform at SciLifeLab headed by professor Joakim Lundeberg.

Entry requirements
The candidate should have PhD in molecular biology preferably with experience with single cell methodology and/or immunology with a solid knowledge of either T-cell immunology and relevant immunological assays. Knowledge in transcriptomics assays are advantageous.

A person is eligible for a position as postdoctoral research fellow if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc.
