Joint Post-Doctoral Position In Uppsala Biocenter And Umeå Plant Science Center : Uppsala/Umeå, Sweden

A postdoctoral research position is available starting October 1, 2014 in the laboratories of Dr. Peter Bozhkov (Uppsala BioCentre) and Dr. Stephanie Robert (Umeå Plant Science Centre) to study regulation of autophagy in plants.

While the position will be mainly based in Uppsala, the postdoc will have several secondments in Umeå to perform chemical genetics screens.

Education/experience required:
1. A recent PhD in cell or molecular biology, or biochemistry, with at least one first-author publication in a top-ranked journal.
2. Strong skills in life cell imaging and high-throughput image analysis.
3. Documented experience in chemical genetics and/or autophagy research is a significant asset.
4. Previous experience of working with plants is valuable but not obligatory.

The position is initially available for two years with the possibility for a further extension. Tax-free scholarship will be in the range 22-24 thousand SEK/month (equivalent to 2,400 – 2,600 €/month), depending on the candidate’s experience.
