You will join the Ocular Biomechanics Group of the University of Liverpool. The post is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to support the development of a predictive tool for the accurate planning of refractive surgery and in particular Laser-Assisted in situ Keratomileusis (LASIK). The project relies on a mixture of finite element analysis (using Abaqus) and Visual Basic programming. You should have a PhD and an excellent background in engineering (medical, mechanical or civil). Knowledge of ocular biomechanics and the LASIK procedure would be advantageous. The post is available for 4 months.
