The Lab of Edgar Gomes is looking for talented and curious research scientists and post-docs to join our lab at the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM), Lisbon, Portugal, under the support of an ERC consolidator grant (PhoNICs – Positioning the nucleus for cell migration and muscle fiber function).
We want to identify new mechanisms that regulate and drive the position of the nucleus inside cells, how the cytoskeleton is connected with the nuclear envelope, how this connection is regulated and what is the role for nuclear positioning in cellular functions. Our favorite models are mouse migrating cells (2D and 3D) and skeletal muscle and we use multiple biochemistry, in-silico modeling, cell biology, high- and super-resolution microscopy approaches to address these questions.
The candidates should have a PhD degree, fertile imagination and passionate curiosity to understand mechanistic processes. Experience in cloning, protein biochemistry, immunofluorescence and time-lapse microscopy is preferred. Personal license equivalent to FELASA Category B is desirable. …
