Postdoctoral positions in Fungal Molecular, Cell and Infection Biology : Lyon, France

Position Description

Bayer and Marie-Curie Initial Training Network – FungiBrain Sensing and integration of signals governing cell polarity and tropism in fungi

We seek three ambitious and enthusiastic postdoctoral candidates to join our interdisciplinary team at the forefront of fungal research.

The FungiBrain training network offers:
· A postdoctoral position within a network of expert mentors in fungal biology from across eight European Universities, and three leading Industrial Partners
· A unique opportunity to develop complementary skills through participation in and organization of summer schools, workshops and network conferences
· A focused and personalised career development plan.
· A two month secondment to one of the network partners
· An 18 month employment contract

Essential Requirements:
· A PhD in an appropriate Life Sciences discipline
· An excellent academic track record, publication(s) in high impact journals, and a proven interest in fungal research
· Be ambitious, enthusiastic, self-determined and a team player
· Fulfill eligibility requirements according to the Marie Curie ITN conditions
· Be prepared to travel and live abroad, and undertake research at partner institutions

Eligibility terms :

1. Applicants must have a PhD. (on the date of appointment)

2. Applicants must have AT LEAST 4 years research experience following their MSc. graduation, but NO MORE THAN 5 years experience. (likely to be the first year following their PhD graduation, and their very first post doc position).

3. Researchers must not have spent more than 12 months in the last 3 years in the country of appointment.
