PurposePostdoctoral position in experimental condensed matter physics - Baylor University has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research in the area of experimental ultrafast optics in condensed matter systems. The ideal candidate will have a combination of research experience in one or more of the following areas: experimental ultrafast optical spectroscopy, terahertz time- domain spectroscopy, high magnetic field spectroscopy, high temperature superconductivity, and the physics of non-equilibrium systems. The position will be located in Waco, but regular travel to national user facilities (e.g. National High Magnetic Field Lab in Tallahassee and the Center for Integrated Nanotechnology at Los Alamos) will also be required. She/he must have an outstanding publication record and a strong commitment to excellence in conducting independent research and in supervising research at both graduate and undergraduate researchers. A start date of January 2020 is anticipated but can be negotiated. The position is initiatively for a one-year term, which is renewable for a second year with mutual agreement and subject to the availability of funds.
