Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The successful candidate will conduct research at NIST on design, nanofabrication and measurements of innovative grating-based devices and structures for a novel neutron interferometer under the mentorship of Dr. Nikolai Klimov and in collaboration with inter-disciplinary NIST team. The candidate will have an opportunity to: -Work in the state-of-the-art NIST NanoFab class 100 cleanroom facility -Be a member of a multidisciplinary collaboration team -Publish in prestigious scientific journals and present at technical conferences
Minimum Qualifications:-Ph.D. or equivalent experience in natural sciences or engineering -Substantial hands-on experience in micro/nano-fabrication and cleanroom processes -In-depth knowledge of advanced lithographic techniques, DRIE, thin-film deposition -A good publication record demonstrating original thinking, and ability to conduct research both independently, and collaboratively -MEMs/NEMs and/or microfluidics device modeling and nanofabrication is a plus -Effective written and oral communication skills
