Responsibilities:The Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility and the Trauma and Global Mental Health Lab, within The New School, are pleased to announce a post- doctoral fellowship for the 2020-2021 academic year. This is an ideal opportunity for recent Ph.D. graduates conducting work in migration, mobility, and mental health to join a leading teaching, research and policy institute on migration and mobility studies in New York City. The Fellow will be expected to participate in the Institute’s intellectual community, to teach two courses during the 2020-2021 academic year and to contribute to the Institute’s facilitation of public engagement with academics, policy makers, activists and artists as related to migration and mobility. The Fellow will also hold an appointment in Trauma and Global Mental Health Lab and will be expected carry out relevant research on migration and mental health. The Fellow will receive a competitive salary for one year, and opportunities to work with leading migration experts and scholars. Minimum Qualifications:Applicants must have defended their PhD by June 30, or provide a letter from their advisor or the chair of their department stating that the defense of their dissertation will occur no later than the beginning of the fall 2020 term.
