丹麦技术大学无线嵌入式系统方向博士后招聘
The section for Embedded Systems Engineering (ESE) of DTU Compute, Technical University of Denmark offers a 2-year Postdoc position in Wireless Embedded Systems starting on June 1, 2020 or soon thereafter. The position is associated with the project “AgroRobottiFleet - Agricultural robotic fleet communication and collaboration for complex arable operations” funded by Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD).
Project Description
AgroRobottiFleet aims to develop a fleet collaboration system, enabling multiple autonomous agricultural robots to safely collaborate with each other as well as with human-operated tractors and machinery. In this context, we seek a motivated postdoctoral researcher to participate in the research and development of a dependable wireless communication system, tailored to the requirements of agricultural robotic fleets. The project has innovative use cases in agriculture, which can be used to drive and validate the research, with challenges and requirements such as high mobility and intermittent connections, due to terrain shadowing; long-range operation either with direct communication or via a drone acting as a relay node; and industrial-grade ultra-reliable operation suitable for safety-critical data.
These research activities will be performed in collaboration with AGROINTELLI, a Danish research and development company with focus on innovative agricultural technology. Hence, the researcher will have access to realistic use cases and field data.
ESE conducts research in a broad range of topics central for the design of modern embedded systems and is the coordinator of the Nordic University Hub on Industrial IoT, a network of leading technical universities in the Nordic area. The researcher will have access to mobility funding to visit the Hub research groups and to gain access to their research infrastructure. ESE will support the researcher with his/her career development. DTU offers career development courses (e.g., proposal preparation, project management, pedagogy). There are no requirements for teaching, but the researcher has to opportunity to participate in our courses (e.g., via guest lecturing) to improve their teaching skills and portfolio. In addition, we will support the researcher in identifying masters’ and PhD students to supervise. Finally, the position is very competitive in terms of salary: researchers applying from outside of Denmark may qualify for the reduced taxation for foreign researchers and have the option to get their pension paid out as salary, see the pension section in this guide.
Responsibilities and tasks
The appointed applicant will be responsible for the design and experimental evaluation of a dependable wireless solution for agricultural robotic fleets. In particular, the appointed candidate will be responsible for:
Conducting research in the area of wireless embedded systems for Industrial IoT applications and, specifically, for agricultural robotic fleets
Developing a proof-of-concept implementation and experimentally validating their research
Publishing and disseminating their research in high-quality conferences and journals
Co-managing the project activities, representing DTU in project meetings, and supervising students and research assistants working in the project
Communicating and engaging with the engineers of AGROINTELLI who will convert the research outputs of the project into products
