We are looking for a highly committed scientist, preferred in a medical profession, who shares our interest in analysing molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular functions and diseases. Currently, our international assembled group focuses on dynamics and mechanisms that regulate vascular endothelial cell junctions. This topic is of critical importance in understanding inflammation, wound healing, infectious diseases and tumour metastasis. In vitro tissue culture models and in vivo rodent models are investigated in our laboratory with a wide variety of cell biology techniques, including “spinning disc live cell imaging”, FRAP-analysis, biochemical and molecular biology, shear stress application and super-resolution microscopy.
For further information on recent published papers and live cell imaging movies please see https://www.medizin.uni-muenster.de/anatomie2/forschung/ausgewaehlte-publikationen/ and https://www.medizin.uni-muenster.de/anatomie2/forschung/filme/. The working group at the University of Münster is headed by Professor Hans Schnittler.
