The laboratory of Dr. Harlan Robins, Head of Computational Biology, is recruiting two postdoc positions funded by Stand UP 2 Cancer and the V Foundation to study the interaction between the adaptive immune system and cancer. This position will come with a competitive postdoc-level salary with great benefits for a two-year position with some possibility of extension. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home of about 190 faculty including three Nobel laureates, is an independent, nonprofit research institution dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research. The Center is housed in a lovely campus next to Lake Union a short walk from downtown, and a slightly longer walk from the University of Washington.Responsibilities
The position will involve technology development, algorithm creation, and applications. Primary research goals will be to develop high-throughput technologies to assess the specific immune response to cancer and to learn how the tumor evades this response and how the response can be resuscitated to effectively fight tumors.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in biological science, math, physics, or another computation-heavy discipline
- Either computer programming proficiency or some programming and molecular biology laboratory experience
- Clear ability for independent research
