德国神经退行性疾病中心蛋白聚积与老化研究博士后职位
Postdoctoral Position (f/m) in Protein Aggregation and Aging : Tübingen, Germany
A postdoctoral position is available in the “Protein Aggregation and Aging” group of Dr. Della David at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Tübingen, Germany.
The DZNE is a center of excellence within the Helmholtz Association that performs translational research on neurodegenerative diseases. The center includes nine high-performing sites in Berlin, Bonn, Dresden, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock / Greifswald, Tübingen and Witten.
Our lab investigates the process of aging and neurodegeneration on a molecular level. We use C. elegans to study the mechanisms controlling protein homeostasis with age. Specifically, we aim to understand why proteins become unfolded with age and what the consequences for the organism are.
We are a small but growing lab and offer a strongly cooperative and supportive environment. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic candidate with a PhD who has a proven track record of scientific achievement and strong training in molecular and cellular biology. The successful candidate will lead a project investigating factors which modulate inherent protein aggregation. Knowledge of biochemical techniques and microscopy imaging would be an advantage. Previous experience working with C. elegans is strongly desirable but not required. The applicant should have good interpersonal skills and be fluent in English. The earliest starting date is March 1st, 2016.
We offer:
- An interesting and challenging task in a research center that works on the future topics of health research
- An international environment characterized by a strong focus on science and research
- A high potential for the individual development of our employees
- Targeted personnel development
- A full-time position, initially temporary limited
- Employment, payment and social benefits are determined by the Public Sector Collective Agreement (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TVöD Bund).
The DZNE is an equal opportunity employer. The DZNE is committed to employing disabled individuals and especially encourages them to apply.
