Applications are invited for a PhD studentship within the group of Prof Curry.
The project will directly contribute to the groups world-leading work in the development of new chalcogenide materials and devices based on non-equilibrium doping. Working alongside our collaborators in the UK and overseas the project will seek to develop a fundamental understanding of the unique properties of these materials and also demonstrate them in proof-of-concept devices.
The successful candidate will join the Advanced Technology Institute at the University of Surrey The University, named The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016 University of The Year, is located in the sought-after town of Guildford with a fast train connection (40 min) to central London.
Applicants should be of outstanding quality and exceptionally motivated, and should have a First Class or Upper Second Honours degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in physics, electronic engineering, materials science or a closely related discipline.
The studentship is for three and a half years starting in January 2016. It fully covers University tuition fees (at EU/UK level) and provides an annual tax-free stipend of approx £14,057. Overseas students may apply if the difference between the EU and overseas fees is funded by other sources.
