美国德州健康医学中心招聘信号传导研究博士后
Postdoctoral Fellow in Signal Transduction
Dessauer Lab at UTHealth Medical School Houston, TexasNIH postdoctoral stipend levels
A postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Carmen Dessauer is available to study cyclic AMP signaling as it relates to heart failure, immune function, or chronic pain after injury. Investigations center on how localization of adenylyl cyclase to specific complexes via A-kinase anchoring proteins (AKAPs) regulates downstream signal transduction and physiological processes. We employ multiple approaches in our research including biochemical, molecular, as well as sophisticated imaging techniques using FRET, FLIM, and calcium imaging.
Qualifications:
Applicants with a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent and a strong background in either cell signaling, biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology and/or imaging are encouraged to apply. The candidate must be able to work independently, design experimental protocols, analyze data, write up protocols and manuscripts, and take the lead in the defining the direction of a given project. One should also have a good comprehension of the English language, the ability to work with others in various interactive situations, as well as a high motivation level.
Interested individuals should send their resume to: Dr. Carmen Dessauer, 6431 Fannin St., University of Texas Medical School, Houston, TX 77030; or e-mail to: carmen.w.dessauer@uth.tmc.edu. For more information about the laboratory see www.dessauer-lab.com.
