The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology has an opportunity available for a Postdoctoral Associate. Under the mentorship of Dr. Mingjiang Xu, the candidate will participate in molecular, genetic and cellular biological studies of the role of TET2-containing protein complexes, Asxl1, and/or Phf6 in the pathogenesis of hematological malignancies utilizing state of the art gene-modified mouse models. The ultimate goal of your study is to identify and validate novel molecular targets for treating hematological malignancies harboring TET2 mutations. You are also expected to assess the therapeutic potential of two novel strategies using in vitro cultures and animal models.
Minimum requirements are as follows: PhD or MD in a science related field. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience may be considered.
