The goal of the research in the Czyzyk laboratory (Anesthesiology Department) is to build preclinical models to study the control of energy homeostasis in mice to ultimately help us better understand human metabolism. The laboratory is seeking to hire a highly-motivated person with 0-2 years of postdoctoral experience. The fellow will focus on determining the mechanisms by which the novel protein MPZL3 controls metabolic physiology in vivo. Experience with in vivo mouse models is required. Experience in lipoprotein biology or human genetic studies is preferred, but not required. Candidates must have a PhD in Physiology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Candidates are expected to be highly ambitious and be able to work independently to drive scientific projects forward. Furthermore, candidates are expected to work well in a team-based environment and collaborate with both internal and external investigators. Candidates should also have excellent communication and project-management skills.
