Job Description

An immediate opening is available for a postdoctoral scholar to support research in the areas of bioengineering, tissue engineering, bionanotechnology, biomaterials, pharmaceutics, and related fields. Projects will involve the development and characterization of in vitro cell assays for the evaluation of composite particulates used in the treatment of pulmonary diseases (including lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, and cystic fibrosis). Extensive experience in a subset of the following areas is required: mammalian cell culture (REQUIRED), analytical techniques (HPLC, NMR, DLS, XRD, DSC etc.), and imaging (fluorescent, confocal, SEM). Experience in the development of aerosols, tumor spheroids, tissue engineering, nanoparticles, polymer systems, or cancer biology is a plus. The ability to communicate effectively, mentor students, and write proposals is necessary. A successful applicant must have completed a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline, with a proven capacity for high-quality research as reflected in a publication record.
